The wine experiences happening throughout the month of May makes this one of our favorite months. That’s right — it’s Oregon Wine Month again. For those who are unfamiliar with what makes this month special, with the wine community in Oregon growing so much, this month celebrates this world-class wine region’s efforts.

This month is the perfect kick-off to wine tasting season in Oregon. With so much to experience, getting the most out of Oregon Wine Month means planning is essential. More than 700 wineries call Oregon home, and with beyond 1,000 vineyards growing 72 varieties of grapes, the options are seemingly endless when it comes to choosing a glass. This state-wide month of wine tasting, wine learning, and, of course, wine loving, embodies the epitome of what it means to appreciate an uncorked bottle.

In this article, we’ll discuss how you can make the most of Oregon Wine Month 2019. Keep these ideas in mind as you plan your experiences throughout the state for this May.

Plan For Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend is the #1 wine tasting weekend of the year. With this in mind, make sure to plan ahead. Wine festivities are abundant and so are the crowds. This is a perfect opportunity to hop-on NW Wine Shuttle  and let us do the driving. We drop you right at the front door of each winery so you don’t have to deal with crowded parking lots and busy country roads.

Willamette Wines will be doing a Memorial Weekend in the Wine Country from May 25 to May 27. This is the start of tasting season, meaning you’ll get to try some of the newly released white wines, Pinot Noir, Rosés, and check out some small producers who aren’t usually open to the public.

Numerous wineries throughout Oregon will be participating in this Willamette Wines event. Feel free to check out this list of wineries, schedules, and tasting fees for this event.
