From Vine to Glass, An Educational and “Live”ly Tour About Oregon Wine

Sunday School Wine Goes On Tour This Summer To “Disconnect” And Teach Locals About Wine In-Person

PORTLAND, OR – Today, Sunday School Wine together with NW Wine Shuttle announced a new tour experience this Summer with four dates only beginning on July 25, 2021. While their virtual wine classes are still going strong, Martin and Mallory of Sunday School Wine wanted to offer a limited number of off-screen, interactive experiences. Not to worry, they will not leave their signature chalkboard, whitty drawings, and striped shirts behind.

Sunday School is best known for their energetic, accessible, and informative wine experiences. Their teaching has facts and figures galore, but it’s also contextual and story-based, helping to promote a deeper and intuitive understanding of wine. If you are expecting slides and lectures on wine scores, this is not the tour for you. Classes always have surprises, humor and delightful chalkboard drawings to help you get the picture.

This Summer, four dates only, Sunday School will partner with NW Wine Shuttle, a local tour company that is recognized for introducing the region’s first hop-on, hop-off wine shuttle, to offer this fun, value packed wine education experience.

ABOUT THE TOUR

In this six-hour tour, guests will start with a near Portland pickup at Sunset Transit Center. A convenient location for downtown residents who can hop-on the MAX or metropolitan residents who can take a short Uber/Lyft ride and have a door-to-door day of wine tasting.

The first stop is in Carlton’s iconic grain elevator, which has been beautifully remodeled and is now home to Flâneur Wines. There, guests will enjoy a full tasting flight followed by a 40-minute class on Oregon wine—ranging from its compelling history to its unique AVAs and soil types. It is sure to be the most creative way you’ve learned about Oregon Wine.

Guests will then board the Wine Shuttle and head west through the great little town of Carlton to Résonance Winery where they’ll unwind with an exclusive, guided, vineyard hike and picnic lunch, while enjoying glasses of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

The tour will end with a return to Sunset Transit Center, for a total of 6 hours of wine tasting, education and transportation.
