Mother’s Day in Wine Country

Last year, I departed from my usual Mother’s Day traditions, to celebrate with some inspiring mom friends. We are all lovers of wine and no strangers to Oregon Wine Country.

We packed our favorite picnic items and met at Hamacher Wines just outside of our South Beaverton neighborhood. We took over a picnic table aside their bocce ball court, with a decadent picnic, fantastic bottles of crisp chardonnay, and plenty of space for kids to play. It was delightful seeing the winery packed with families celebrating moms.

Us moms, enjoyed a peaceful and scenic stroll through the vineyard soaking in the rare sun in May and sipping our chardonnay. It was a picture perfect afternoon that made us wonder why we don’t take our families wine tasting more often.  Did I just say that! Yes, believe it or not, this day inspired a trend that would carry on all summer. Taking our family on picnics at wineries.

I encourage you all this Mother’s Day to have a glass of wine with your Mom. But if you are feeling like some fun with your friends, visit a winery with your family or better yet, hop-on the shuttle with your friends for a carefree day in wine country.

Here are some Mother’s Day inspired events from some of our favorite wineries.

Cheers!
