As everyone is getting ready for Thanksgiving with a turkey and sides, winemakers in Oregon’s wine country are waiting for Thanksgiving weekend with anticipation –– and preparing for their guests, of course. This is a special time of year, especially for wine enthusiasts in Oregon.
The majority of the wineries in the Willamette Valley usher in their guests, throwing a massive wine-infused party everyone in attendance enjoys. This year is the 37th year the Willamette Valley wineries are opening their cellars and tasting rooms to hold special events.
These Thanksgiving events are happening from November 29 to December 1, bringing special tastings, new releases, live music, holiday discounts, food pairings, and more. It’s the Oregon tradition to celebrate the completion of harvest with friends and family.
In this article, we’re discussing some of the best events happening during this weekend to help you plan accordingly as you make the most of your Thanksgiving in Oregon’s wine country.

The Dundee Tasting Room is hosting a Flagship Tasting and a Reserve Tasting. Visitors can celebrate another successful harvest at Angela Estate with a tasting flight of current and library selections. At the end of the tasting, you’ll celebrate with a splash of bubbles. You’ll also find you can order a rustic cheese board to add to the tasting experience.
Archery Summit is holding a Thanksgiving Weekend Open House. Guests will receive delectable pours and warm hospitality at this hilltop estate. Meandering throughout their European-inspired cellar and cave system while sampling wines should be a treat.
Day Wines at Day Camp is the host for Oregon’s growing natural wine scene. This winery will host live music, small bites, and special pours, including library pours. All in all, this should be an excellent outing full of great wine and Thanksgiving fun.
Le Cadeau Vineyard is providing its release of 95-point limited-production Reserve Pinot noir for this event. This event will also have volcanic rock-grown Pinot, Sparkling Rose, and Rocks District Grenache as well. Since this winery is providing low yields, there’s not much available. However, this makes some excellent wines. At this event, you’ll be at the source of these acclaimed wines.
Stoller Family Estate is an excellent place to sip on their new wine releases. They’ll serve guests their wine in keepsake stemless glasses while playing live music. This event will also have a holiday gift market featuring local vendors. This winery is also offering lunch for an additional $15 per person. A complimentary wine tasting with an entry will happen on Friday from 10am – 11am.
