How to Visit North Willamette Valley Wine Country from the Oregon Coast
If you’re planning a trip to the Oregon Coast and want to visit Willamette Valley wine country, your choice of coastal destination matters more than most
I love wine, and if you’re reading this blog, you do to! I drink wine for almost any occasion – with dinner, during playdates, out on the town, and in my PJs. Does that make me a “wine mom?” According to the Urban Dictionary, and thanks to this blog, most definitely yes.
Sure there are some negative connotations of moms abusing wine as a coping mechanism, but I believe most “wine moms” love wine for the ritual. The resulting memes are just good old fashioned humor that bonds us together.
More often than not, the ritual of drinking a glass of wine becomes a connector. It can be a connector of our own thoughts, or a connector of those around us. Drinking a glass of wine isn’t just about the beverage, it’s a moment where we relax and open up. We forget our worries, and for that moment we enjoy the taste and the retreat of it.
There is a “wine mom” meme that I love, which says “I can’t wait for the day that I can drink with my kids, instead of because of them.” You can interpret this in two ways, but my interpretation is wine as a connector. Some of my favorite moments as an adult are having a glass of wine with my mom. And, as a mom of two daughters, I can’t wait to have those same moments with my girls.
I encourage you all this Mother’s Day to have a glass of wine with your Mom.
Here are some Mother’s Day inspired events from some of our favorite wineries on the route.
Cheers!
